For roofing & exterior contractors
Roofing companies: storm calls come in sorted, and no bid gets forgotten.
I build small tools for roofing companies that get buried after a storm: an inspection request that collects the address, photos and claim status, a ballpark price in roof squares, and polite follow-ups on bids that went quiet. It works next to your roofing software, and you approve every message.

The real problem
After a hailstorm, everyone calls at once.
A storm rolls through and the phone doesn't stop. You're on one roof, your crew is on another, and every caller wants an inspection this week. Some leave a voicemail. Many don't.
The ones you do reach still need the same questions answered before you can plan the day: the address, what they're seeing, whether water is coming in, and where the insurance claim stands.
Then the bids sit. Insurance jobs wait on the adjuster, cash jobs wait on the homeowner, and nobody has time to follow up on all of them. On top of the roofing software, many shops pay for texting add-ons, a texting and review platform, shared leads and answering services.
Try it on your phone
What the roofing demo shows
It's a made-up company called Example Roofing & Exteriors. Open it on your phone and tap through it the way your customer would. Nothing in it is live, so poke around.
Storm-damage inspection request
The homeowner picks what they're seeing, adds photos from the ground, and says where the insurance claim stands. If water is coming in now, the request gets flagged to your phone first so you can send someone to tarp.
Instant roof ballpark
Homeowners enter the footprint, pitch and material and see a ballpark in roof squares, with the math shown. The real version uses your price per square and says “ballpark” until you've seen the roof.
Bid follow-ups
Every estimate gets a polite check-in on day 3, 10 and 21 until the homeowner signs or says no. Insurance bids start after the adjuster visit.
The monthly bills
What roofing companies often pay each month
These are tools roofing companies often pay a monthly bill for, at published or reported prices. Each price links to where it came from.
| Tool | What it does | Price | My take | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| RoofrEssentials plan | Roofing estimates and job tracking | $249/momonth to month | Usually worth keepingYour roofing software stays. Texting add-ons on top of it are worth a look. | contractortoolstack.com |
| Podium | Texting and review requests | $399/mo | Worth a hard lookIf you mostly use it for review asks and texting, that's the part I can build for you to own. | contractortoolstack.com |
| RubyLive answering service | Answering calls | $250/mofor 50 minutes | Worth a hard lookA storm weekend eats minutes fast. Compare it with a text back on missed calls. | oncrew.ai |
Roofr Essentials plus Podium comes to $648 a month at those prices, or $7,776 a year.
What usually stays: your roofing software and your Google Local Services Ads. What I build takes over the texting, missed-call replies and bid follow-ups.
Prices are what each linked page showed when I checked on October 23, 2026. Vendors change prices, and several sources are reviews or comparison sites rather than the vendor's own page, so check your own bill. I don't list my prices here. You get one written price after the free walkthrough.
How it works
How working with me goes
Every company is different, so I don't guess from the outside. The first look is free, and nothing gets built until you've said yes to one written price.
Free walkthrough
A 20-minute call, or a free 2-minute video built for your company. You tell me what eats your time. I tell you straight if I can fix it.
One price, in writing
A short write-up and one price before you pay anything. No hourly meter. If I can't build it, no charge.
Built around what you use
Your roofing software, photo app and accounting stay. The new tool works next to them, so your crew doesn't learn a new system.
You approve every message
You read and okay the wording before the tool sends anything, and you can change it any time.
You own it
It's yours outright. It keeps working whether or not we ever talk again.
Up and running
Most tools are working in 2 to 4 weeks from your yes. I'm a phone call away if something needs a change.
Remote or in person, same price. I'm based in Mason City, Iowa. If your company is in North Iowa, I'll come sit at your desk. Anywhere else, we do it over a screen share: you see what I see, and you're talking to me the whole time, not a team you never meet.
Straight answers
Questions roofing companies ask
Can homeowners see a price before I've seen the roof?
Only a ballpark, and only if you want that turned on. It uses your price per square, shows the math, and says “ballpark” until you've been up there.
How does it handle insurance jobs?
The request asks where the claim is: not filed yet, waiting on the adjuster, or adjuster already out. Follow-ups on insurance bids wait until after the adjuster visit.
What about storm weeks when we can't keep up?
That's when it helps most. Every request comes in with the same details, any hour, and anything with water coming in gets flagged first. You call back in the order that makes sense.
Do you only work with roofing companies in Iowa?
No. If you're in North Iowa, I'll come to you. Everywhere else, we work over a screen share, which is how most software gets built anyway. Your zip code doesn't change the price.
What does it cost?
It depends on what your company needs, so I don't post prices. The walkthrough is free and ends with one price in writing. A one-time tool is a one-time price, and if I can't build it, there's no charge. Texting and hosting have a small monthly bill in your own name, and I'll show you that number up front too.
Let's talk
Tell me what's eating your time.
One free call, or a free 2-minute video of what this would look like in your roofing company. If there's nothing worth building, I'll tell you that too.
