For builders & remodelers

Builders and remodelers: bids stop going quiet, and clients stop calling for updates.

I build small tools for the office side of a building or remodeling company: a project request form that collects photos, budget and timeline, polite follow-ups on bids, and job updates clients get by text. It works next to the software you already use, and you approve every message.

Demo done
Hi Karen, demo is done and the basement is cleaned out. Framing starts Wednesday. A few photos from today are here: [link].
Inspection passed
Good news, Karen. Framing, electrical and plumbing rough-in passed inspection this morning. Insulation and drywall go in next week.

The real problem

Bids go quiet. Clients don't.

You spend an evening on a bid, send it, and hear nothing for two weeks. Following up feels pushy, so it doesn't happen, and some of those jobs go to whoever called back.

Once a job starts, clients want to know where it stands. Every “how's it going?” call or text pulls you off the job site.

Many companies pay hundreds a month for texting and review platforms, answering services, or top-tier plans bought for one or two features.

What the remodeling demo shows

It's a made-up company called Example Builders. Open it on your phone and tap through it the way your customer would. Nothing in it is live, so poke around.

  1. Tell us about your project

The request arrives with photos, budget and timeline, any hour, while you keep working.

  2. Bids waiting on an answer

Each bid that goes quiet gets a polite check-in on day 3, 10 and 21 until the client signs or says no. Nobody has to remember.

  3. Weekly project updates

Karen gets a text at each step of her basement job, from the dumpster drop to the final walk-through, so the update calls stop. Each one is a tap for your team.

The monthly bills

What builders and remodelers often pay each month

These are tools builders and remodelers often pay a monthly bill for, at published or reported prices. Each price links to where it came from.

PodiumCore plan Texting and review requests $399/mo Worth a hard lookIf you mostly use it for review asks and texting, that's the part I can build for you to own. softwarefinder.com

Podium Core alone comes to $4,788 a year at that price.

What usually stays: your job-management platform, accounting and phone line. What I build takes over the bid follow-ups, job update texts, missed-call replies and review asks.

Prices are what each linked page showed when I checked on October 23, 2026. Vendors change prices, and several sources are reviews or comparison sites rather than the vendor's own page, so check your own bill. I don't list my prices here. You get one written price after the free walkthrough.

How it works

How working with me goes

Every company is different, so I don't guess from the outside. The first look is free, and nothing gets built until you've said yes to one written price.

STEP 1

Free walkthrough

A 20-minute call, or a free 2-minute video built for your company. You tell me what eats your time. I tell you straight if I can fix it.

STEP 2

One price, in writing

A short write-up and one price before you pay anything. No hourly meter. If I can't build it, no charge.

STEP 3

Built around what you use

Your job-management platform, accounting and phone line stay. The new tool works next to them, so your crew doesn't learn a new system.

STEP 4

You approve every message

You read and okay the wording before the tool sends anything, and you can change it any time.

STEP 5

You own it

It's yours outright. It keeps working whether or not we ever talk again.

STEP 6

Up and running

Most tools are working in 2 to 4 weeks from your yes. I'm a phone call away if something needs a change.

Remote or in person, same price. I'm based in Mason City, Iowa. If your company is in North Iowa, I'll come sit at your desk. Anywhere else, we do it over a screen share: you see what I see, and you're talking to me the whole time, not a team you never meet.

Straight answers

Questions builders and remodelers ask

Won't follow-ups annoy people?

They're short and polite, a few weeks apart, and they stop the moment someone answers. You write the wording.

Who sends the job updates?

Your team taps the step, like “demo done” or “inspection passed,” and the text goes out with the wording you okayed. Photos can go along.

Do I need new project software?

No. Your job-management platform stays where it is. The tool works next to it.

Do you only work with builders and remodelers in Iowa?

No. If you're in North Iowa, I'll come to you. Everywhere else, we work over a screen share, which is how most software gets built anyway. Your zip code doesn't change the price.

What does it cost?

It depends on what your company needs, so I don't post prices. The walkthrough is free and ends with one price in writing. A one-time tool is a one-time price, and if I can't build it, there's no charge. Texting and hosting have a small monthly bill in your own name, and I'll show you that number up front too.

Let's talk

Tell me what's eating your time.

One free call, or a free 2-minute video of what this would look like in your building or remodeling company. If there's nothing worth building, I'll tell you that too.
