For tax & accounting offices
Tax offices: stop answering “Is my return done yet?” all season.
I build small tools for tax and bookkeeping offices: a document checklist clients can see, a text at each step of their return, and January booking texts for last year's clients. It works next to your tax software, and you approve every message.

The real problem
Tax season is the same three conversations, all day.
“What do I still need to bring?” “Is my return done yet?” “Can I get in next week?” Each one is a phone call, and in February and March there are a lot of them.
Returns stall waiting on one missing form, a W-2 on someone's fridge or a property tax statement in a truck, and somebody has to call to chase it.
Every January, someone works down last year's list to get people on the calendar. Your tax software and practice management are worth keeping. The openings are the add-ons stacked around them: texting and review platforms, answering services, scheduling tools and a second document-sharing tool.
Try it on your phone
What the tax office demo shows
It's a made-up office called Example Tax & Accounting. Open it on your phone and tap through it the way your customer would. Nothing in it is live, so poke around.
Your 2024 tax document checklist
Clients tick off what they've sent, and the reminder text lists only what's still missing.
Where's my return? Status texts
Clients get a text at each step, so the “is it ready yet?” calls stop. Each update is one tap for your team.
January booking and day-before reminder
Linda picks afternoons by text and gets booked with her checklist link. The day before, the reminder lists exactly what's still missing: Dale's W-2 and the county property tax statement.
The time it takes
Where the hours go in tax season
I don't have checked prices for the tools tax offices pay for, so I'm not showing any. What I can show is where the time goes, and what the demo takes off your desk.
What usually stays: your tax software and practice management. What I build takes over the checklist reminders, status texts and booking texts.
How it works
How working with me goes
Every office is different, so I don't guess from the outside. The first look is free, and nothing gets built until you've said yes to one written price.
Free walkthrough
A 20-minute call, or a free 2-minute video built for your office. You tell me what eats your time. I tell you straight if I can fix it.
One price, in writing
A short write-up and one price before you pay anything. No hourly meter. If I can't build it, no charge.
Built around what you use
Your tax software and practice management stay. The new tool works next to them, so your staff doesn't learn a new system.
You approve every message
You read and okay the wording before the tool sends anything, and you can change it any time.
You own it
It's yours outright. It keeps working whether or not we ever talk again.
Up and running
Most tools are working in 2 to 4 weeks from your yes. I'm a phone call away if something needs a change.
Remote or in person, same price. I'm based in Mason City, Iowa. If your office is in North Iowa, I'll come sit at your desk. Anywhere else, we do it over a screen share: you see what I see, and you're talking to me the whole time, not a team you never meet.
Straight answers
Questions tax and accounting offices ask
Do clients upload documents through this?
The checklist shows what's missing and links to wherever you already collect documents. If you're paying for two document-sharing tools, we can look at that on the walkthrough.
Can it tell clients their return is done?
Yes. Your team taps the step, and the client gets the text you okayed. Nothing about the return itself goes in the text.
Do we have to switch tax software?
No. Your tax software and practice management stay where they are.
Do you only work with tax and accounting offices in Iowa?
No. If you're in North Iowa, I'll come to you. Everywhere else, we work over a screen share, which is how most software gets built anyway. Your zip code doesn't change the price.
What does it cost?
It depends on what your office needs, so I don't post prices. The walkthrough is free and ends with one price in writing. A one-time tool is a one-time price, and if I can't build it, there's no charge. Texting and hosting have a small monthly bill in your own name, and I'll show you that number up front too.
Let's talk
Tell me what's eating your time.
One free call, or a free 2-minute video of what this would look like in your tax office. If there's nothing worth building, I'll tell you that too.

You'll be talking to Chris Poulos — 20 years selling to real people face to face, now I make AI work for them. No agency, no handoffs: the person you call is the person who builds it.
