Website design · Mason City, Iowa

Website design in Mason City, from a guy who answers his own phone.

Websites for plumbers, roofers, mechanics, salons, and every shop in North Iowa that's hard to find on Google. Built for phones first, with a tool that does real work: a quote form, a booking button, or an answer bot for after hours. One flat price, in writing, before you pay a dime.

What it has to do

What should a small business website have?

Five things a customer can find in a few seconds on a phone. If they can't, they call the next shop.

Your phone number, up topOne tap and they're calling you.
What you do, and whereYour services and the towns you cover, in plain words.
A way to ask for a priceWithout calling, even at 9 p.m.
Your hoursSo nobody drives over when you're closed.
Your Google reviewsProof from real customers, right where they're deciding.

Phones matter most. About half of U.S. web visits now come from a phone (49.1% in September 2026, per Statcounter), and Google ranks your site by how it works on a phone.

The difference

What's different about a Praxis website?

Most websites just sit there. Mine come with a tool that does some of the office work. You pick the one your shop needs.

Quote form

Price requests while you sleep

A customer fills in what they need. You get it on your phone, ready to answer.

  • Good for roofers, contractors, repair shops
  • No more phone tag for a ballpark

Booking button

Jobs land on your calendar

Customers pick an open time themselves. You see it the moment it's booked.

  • Good for salons, clinics, service calls
  • Fewer back-and-forth texts

After-hours answer bot

Questions answered at midnight

It answers questions about your hours, prices and services when you can't pick up.

  • Uses public info only — never customer records
  • You set what it can say

Price and process

How much does a small business website cost?

A professionally built small business site usually starts around $1,500. Forbes Advisor's 2026 guide puts professional design at "$1,500 and up," plus $15 to $150 a month for hosting. With me, it's one flat price, in writing, before you pay a dime.

STEP 1

Free walkthrough

A 20-minute call, or a free 2-minute video built for your shop. You tell me what you need. I tell you straight if I'm the right fit.

STEP 2

One price and a finish date

Both in writing, before you pay anything. No hourly meter, no surprise bills. If I can't build it, no charge.

STEP 3

Built, then yours

You see every page before it goes live. It's yours outright. A small monthly covers hosting and updates.

Your three options

Build it yourself, hire an agency, or hire me?

All three can work. Here's the honest difference.

Do it yourself

Squarespace or Wix

Plans start around $17 to $19 a month, billed yearly. You do the building, the writing and the fixing.

  • Cheapest in dollars
  • Costs you evenings

Out-of-town agency

A team you may never meet

Professional design usually starts around $1,500. Read the contract for who owns the site and what fixes cost.

  • Lots of hands
  • Support usually means a ticket

Praxis AI Solutions

One local guy

One flat price in writing. A tool built in. When something breaks, you call (641) 530-2599 and I fix it.

  • You own it outright
  • I'll come to your shop

Straight answers

The questions every owner asks.

Fair questions, plain answers. If yours isn't here, call me: (641) 530-2599.

Do I still need a website if I have a Facebook page?

Yes, because people check your website before they call. In a 2026 survey of 1,002 Americans, 54% said they go to a business's website after reading good reviews about it (BrightLocal). A Facebook page lives on someone else's platform. Your website is yours.

How long does it take to build a website?

I put the finish date in writing, right next to the price. The biggest factor is how fast you can send photos and your list of services. Doing it yourself takes longer than people expect: Forbes Advisor estimates 10 to 14 weeks for a do-it-yourself site (Forbes Advisor).

Who owns the website when it's done?

You do. It runs on your own domain and it's yours outright. It keeps working whether or not we ever talk again. The small monthly covers hosting and updates.

What happens if it breaks?

You call me — (641) 530-2599 — and I fix it. I built it, so there's no support-ticket maze.

Do I need to know anything about computers?

No. You send me photos and tell me what you do. I handle the rest, and you look it over before anything goes live.

Do you only build websites in Mason City?

No. I'll come to your shop anywhere in North Iowa — Clear Lake, Charles City, Osage, Algona, Hampton, Forest City, Garner, Britt, Northwood, St. Ansgar, Nashua, Belmond, Clarion and the towns in between. Everywhere else, we work over a screen share. Same price, same person.

Let's talk

Tell me what your website needs to do.

One free call, or a free 2-minute video of what your site could look like. Plain English. If you don't need a new site, I'll tell you that too.
